Elise Pulver was called to the Bar in 2003 and joined the firm in 2006 to practice corporate and personal tax and estate planning. Elise received her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Western Ontario in 1999, and on graduation, was awarded the University of Western Ontario Gold Medal for achieving the highest overall standing. In 2002, Elise received her LL.B.also with distinction from the University of Western Ontario, with Concentration in Taxation and was awarded the Stikeman Elliot/Carswell National Tax Award.

Before joining Cummings Cooper Schusheim Berliner LLP, Elise articled and practiced at Goodman and Carr LLP and Thorsteinssons Tax Lawyers LLP . Elise has a keen interest in personal tax and estate planning, family business succession planning and charities/not-for-profit law.

Elise has written several case comments including, Transocean (2005 FCA 104), Canadian Tax Highlights, vol. 13, no. 5, p. 4; Wood v. Holden, [2005] EWHC 547 (Ch), Tax Litigation, Federated Press; and Stewarts’ Charitable Foundation, [2005] B.C.C.J. No. 279, OBA, Taxation Newsletter. Elise also authored “The Doctrine of Substantial Compliance,” Goodman on Estate Planning Volume XIII, No. 4

Elise is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation and is involved in the community as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Reena, a non-profit social service agency dedicated to integrating individuals who have a developmental disability into mainstream society.
