Bernard is also an aggressive advocate where necessary, who nonetheless tries to find common ground in arriving at solutions that benefit all involved parties. He is a capable litigator in both tax litigation and civil litigation contexts, with experience litigating against the Department of Justice as well as individual litigants in civil proceedings.
Prior to joining CCSB, Bernard ran his own law practice, Buschke Law, which focused on tax law and litigation.
